  Customer service received at Costa Coffee - Fore Street, Hexham My wife and I are very regular visitors to Costa Coffee stores. We had been specifically informed of the cost of our Costa drinks at another Costa store. The manager at Fore Street, Hexham said the information was incorrect. We had queried the price of our drinks with Costa Coffee Customer Services who provided a price in writing. The manager at Fore Street, Hexham said the information was incorrect. (Contacting Costa Coffee Customer Services is obviously futile when information they provide in writing is ignored in-store). We again contacted Costa Coffee Customer Services for clarification that the information they provided in writing was incorrect. No such clarification was received. The manager at Fore Street, Hexham maintained that the information was incorrect. The manager at our local store provided us with specific confirmation of the price of our drinks. The manager at Fore Street, Hexham said the information was incorrect. The manager at our local store confirmed that the price of our drinks was specifically provided by the Costa Coffee Area Manager who had sent the price to all Costa Coffee managers in the area. The manager at Fore Street, Hexham said the Area Manager did not have the authority to send out the information, the information did not apply as it was in a different Costa Coffee area and the information was incorrect. The manager at Fore Street, Hexham said the price we have been charged for our drinks during our visits to nine separate Costa Coffee stores in the past two months were all incorrect. Additionally, the manager at Fore Street, Hexham said that the price we have been charged for our drinks by her own staff at Fore Street, Hexham during our past six visits was incorrect. The manager at Fore Street, Hexham said I would receive email confirmation of the situation from Costa management and email confirmation from herself of justification of why the price she intends to charge for our drinks is much higher than at any other branch of Costa. Over a week later, neither have been received. The manager of Fore Street, Hexham said she was trying, “to do the right thing” which consisted of stating that Costa Customer Services, many Costa managers, a Costa Area Manager and her own staff had all acted incorrectly and ensuring that she charged us much more for our drinks than any other branch of Costa Coffee. We expected more loyalty from an establishment where we had previously been regular customers. Jeff Robinson.
